How to compress a video to 25 MB

  1. The size is already set to 25 MB. You can change it under “Custom size”.
  2. Drop your video in and check the expected resolution and quality.
  3. Press Compress, then save the MP4. It’s guaranteed to be under 25 MB.

Where a 25 MB limit comes up

Twenty-five megabytes is the Gmail attachment limit and a common cap on company mail systems, so it’s the size to pick when you want a video to arrive as a normal attachment instead of a cloud link.

Common uses: Gmail and other email, Discord’s older 25 MB limit, upload forms.

What quality fits in 25 MB?

The size limit is shared across the whole video, so the longer it is, the less data each second gets. This is what to expect:

Video lengthOutputVideo bitrateQuality
15 seconds1080p12.5 MbpsGood
30 seconds1080p6.2 MbpsGood
1 minute1080p3.0 MbpsGood
2 minutes720p1.5 MbpsOK
5 minutes480p0.5 MbpsLow
10 minutes360p0.2 MbpsLow

For a 1080p source with sound at 25 MB. Removing the sound gives the picture about 128 kbps more.

Leave a little room if the email has other attachments: the limit usually counts the whole message.

How we hit the size exactly

We work out the bitrate from your video’s length so the file lands just under 25 MB, with a little room for the MP4 container. If the encoder overshoots, it automatically tries again slightly smaller, so you never get a file that’s too big.

Questions

Will my video definitely be under 25 MB?

Yes. The size is checked after encoding, and if it’s over, the video is re-encoded slightly smaller automatically.

Why is my video “too long for this size”?

Below a certain bitrate the picture becomes unwatchable. Long videos can’t fit 25 MB at a usable quality, so trim the video or choose a bigger size.

Can I compress a video without losing quality?

Any compression removes some detail; that’s how files get smaller. What matters is whether you can see it. We use the full size you allow, keep the frame rate, and step down resolution only when it will look sharper than a blocky full-size picture. For short clips the difference is usually invisible on a phone.

Is there a watermark?

No. The video you save is exactly what the encoder produced: no watermark, no logo, no sign-up.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs inside your browser and uses your device’s own video encoder. Your file is read from your device, processed there and saved back. You can confirm this in your browser’s network panel: nothing is sent while a video is processed.
