What TikTok expects, and a tool that turns any video into a full-screen 9:16 TikTok: a blurred background, a colour or a crop, with a guide for the buttons on the right. Free, and nothing is uploaded.

How to make your TikTok
Drop in your video. Landscape, square and vertical all work.
Choose how to fill the frame: a blurred background, a colour, or crop to fill (what’s the difference?).
Trim it if you like, press Make video, and save a 1080 × 1920 MP4 with the sound kept.
Which fill works best for TikTok?
For talking-to-camera clips, use Crop to fill and slide the crop so you sit a little left of centre, clear of the buttons down the right. For wide shots and scenery, the blurred background keeps everything in.
Keep text clear of TikTok’s buttons
On TikTok your username and caption sit along the bottom, and the like, comment, share and sound buttons run down the right-hand side. Text placed there gets covered. TikTok doesn’t publish fixed margins: its ad guidance says the safe area changes with the length of the caption. The tool’s guide is an approximation that keeps clear of the bottom and the right, so treat it as a rule of thumb.
How long can a TikTok be?
Videos you upload can be up to 60 minutes long, and videos you record in the TikTok app up to 10 minutes (TikTok Support). If you choose a sound before uploading, TikTok trims the video to the length of the sound.
Landscape clips on TikTok
TikTok plays landscape videos small, in the middle of a tall screen. Turning them into 9:16 first, with a blurred copy of the clip behind, fills the screen so it looks like it belongs in the feed.
Common problems on TikTok
A sound was removed from my video. TikTok removes sounds for copyright or Community Guidelines reasons. Open the video, tap View details, then Change sound, and pick another one (TikTok Support).
My caption covers the text in my video. Your caption grows upwards from the bottom, and the buttons sit on the right. Keep on-screen text in the upper middle, and check with the safe-zone guide in the preview.
The video looks soft after posting. Upload a full 1080 × 1920 video rather than a small or already-compressed copy. This tool keeps your clip at full size.
Questions
What size is a TikTok video?
1080 × 1920 pixels, 9:16 vertical, fills the screen. TikTok’s ad specs ask for 9:16 at 540 × 960 or more.
How long can a TikTok be?
Up to 60 minutes for uploaded videos, and up to 10 minutes when you record in the app.
Can I post a landscape video on TikTok?
Yes, but it plays small with empty space above and below. Make it 9:16 here with a blurred background or a crop to fill the screen.
Where should I put text?
Away from the bottom, where your name and caption go, and away from the right edge, where the buttons are. Switch on the safe zone in the preview to check.
Does it keep the sound?
Yes. The original sound is kept.
Can I make versions for other apps too?
Yes. Tick them under “Also make it for” and they’re made in one go. Apps that need the same video share one file.
Is it free? Is there a watermark?
Free, with no watermark and no sign-up.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is made in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Which browsers does it work in?
Chrome and Edge on computers and Android work best. Recent Safari on iPhone and Mac works too.
