Choose FitVideo if…
- You want to mute, trim or convert a private video without uploading it.
- You need a video to fit a size limit: the compressor hits Discord, WhatsApp and email limits in one step.
- Your video is bigger than 200 MB.
- You’re on a slow connection: there’s no upload, so big files start straight away.
Choose ezgif if…
- You’re editing GIFs: cropping, optimising, adding effects or working frame by frame. ezgif’s GIF tools go much further than ours.
- Your file is an AVI, 3GP or another format FitVideo doesn’t read.
- Your browser isn’t supported by FitVideo, for example an older browser.
Using both
They work well together. Cut and shrink the clip here first, then make or fine-tune the GIF wherever suits you. A shorter, smaller video makes a smaller GIF, whichever tool you use.
Questions
Does ezgif upload my video?
For most video tools, yes. ezgif says uploaded files are deleted after one hour. Its Video to GIF tool also has a local processing option. FitVideo never uploads your video.
Does ezgif have a video compressor?
When we checked in October 2026 its video tools offered resizing but no compressor that targets a file size. FitVideo’s compressor makes a video fit a size you choose.
Can FitVideo mute a video?
Yes. Mute video removes the sound and keeps the picture exactly as it is, in your browser.
Is FitVideo free?
Yes. Free, with no account and no watermark.
